Two weeks on Thassos

Sorry you guys it's been so long! We don't have any internet at home and we've been buzzy with the conference. But now we made it to an internet place.

We have been on the island almost two weeks now. Neither have we had time making our rooms in order. Lena has put up some pictures we brought but the rest is a mess :-)

As we said we had the conference now, three hectic days!! Kenneth has done the recording and some worship and Lena has translated for some Norwegian friends (that we met on the conference last year). And in between the services we had to take care of our new family member!

When we went to get our internet the man behind the counter said he had this abandon kitten that needs a home... He's really cute but he sure needs a lot of attention. He sounded like a parrot when we got him so we were about to call him Parrot, but then we thought that Parrot in Swedish can also be ara so then his name was Ara, and from there it became Harald... So now he is Harald “Ara” Samsung (for he came in a Samsung box).

In the conference we had speakers from England, Sweden, Germany and Greece. The German who's a missionary in Turkey touched us deeply, he told about the situation there and encourage us to live fully for Christ. His brother in law was one of three Christians that was murdered there some years ago.

Last day of the conference we had outreach in the villages of Thassos. That was a good time. We strongly believe that most of them we talked to and prayed for were really touched.

Tod (a missionary from USA) and Kenneth prayed with one woman for salvation.

It also gave us some understanding for the need in the area. As Nicos our young brother from the fellowship said: many people on the island believe in God but they need to learn to trust their life to him.

We've got some new contacts and invitations to come and help, so hopefully we will be able to do something for Gods congregation here in this country, please continue to pray for this.

Hello y'all!

This we wrote Thursday but havn't been able to publish it until today.
Today we had Sunday service in church and it was great to meet with old and new friends in church. Fun to hear about what's going on on the island.

After nearly 4000km, 10 days of traveling an stops in seven countries we've now reached Greece and Thassos. We came to the island with the ferry last night and found a place to put our caravan for so long. Where we were thinking of putting it it's to steep to get... we'll see if we find a stronger car to get it there. We're not sleeping in the caravan though but in the church building, there is a couple of rooms that we can use for as long as we need. There is a bedding sofa and some wardrobes just for us! What's more to ask for?

We have enjoyed our trip. God has been with us through the borders and protected us on the road. We lost some parts before leaving Stockholm but then the caravan has kept together all the way. In Serbia we didn't know where to get a safe overnight but it turned out that we got our own armed guard with a alert dog, so nothing to worry about there!

It's good to finally have reached our destination and now it's exciting to see what will happen next.

Already this morning we joined the Thursday prayer and started of some of the preparations for a conference that the church will have next weekend. And we have lots to do getting our selfs settled...

Now we been typing something to put here but now it doesn't work... Have to leave this internetcafe... Next time maybe...

Our stay in Graz was for sure an experiens.

We had some luxury. We stayed the night in a hotel, a spahotel!!

First of all it was nice just to catch up. Up till then we have got started quite late in the mornings/days so every day we felt like chasing time, not getting where we wanted in time. But now we where able to catch up.

Including in the price of the hotel we had two bikes for free that made it possible for us to go in to town and have a look around. We tried to find a local church but with out succes...

Insted we did go up the Schlosberg from where we had a wounderful view of the city!
And then we went back to the hotel to see what the spa was like (expecting a sauna and possible a pool). It was great with termosauna, jacuzzi, pool and so on and so on... What we did not expect was everyone to be naked! but that's the way they do it in Austria we now know...
Anyway it was a great stay in Graz.

Slept in the caravan on a gasstation about 90 km north of Graz.
Now we have had a great day in Graz.
We are enjoying nice weather, beautful views and hospitable people.

Hamburg- Celle- Schleusingen-Ingolstadt-München

In Germany the crosswalkes don't have any white lines
Germany is a country with many marks from the World Wars.
Here a graveyard for allies, many young boys who died.

It's also a country with many beautiful houses...

...and this time a year, beautiful flowers!
We are having a express spring!

Making our way through München.
Kenneth has done a pocket parking, with the caravan!!!
Lena is amazed!

God bless mothers!

Lenas mother has been here for two days cleaning and helping,
without her we would not have made it in time.
But now we are done with the cleaning and ready for our journey.
We are already sleeping in our caravan and tomorrow we are giving back the keys for our apartment...
Good bye Herrängen, good bye Stockholm :-(

Lena is taking some of the last stuff to our new home.
Our lovely caravan from 1978, our new home holding everything worth bringing. :-)
