Midsummer day.

Midsummer day
Traditional buildings on Thassos

Conference in Leptokaria

In Sweden they celebrated midsummer day the 25 of july and so did we but on Thassos.
We made the famous swedish sandwichcake, and for dessert we had sticky cake (a form of chocolate cake). It was a success.

It seems like God has planted his thoughts in us (as in many others here). We had the idea of working with media, TV/film, not really sure exactly how. But now we have meet with people from some other christian mission organisations (locals mostly) that are in the starting process, wanting to work with media. The main challenge is to get everybody to work together. So please pray for that, cause we as christians are not running a "one man show" we are all building the house of God and if we don't realise that and start helping each other we'll never see any real change in our countries. God is not going to give glory to any single church or organisation!

Now for the work here on Thassos one woman said once that she saw a vision about our church, two streams of water coming together under a bridge, meaning one international stream and one local. And we see it lots of times, tourists that come here and they receive Jesus as their saviour. For example last sunday one girl from England gave her life to Jesus. But that is quite obvious, of course we need to tell everybody that Jesus loves them, tourists as well as locals!

Our time in Ohrid

Our home and our view

Back on Thassos.

Now we have found our own apartment. Very nice place, with an extra room so we can host guests.
It is good that we have found it, because the place we're staying at now is so noisy. We're happy to have the two extra beds because we know we will have a lot of people coming through. And most important so we can invite people we get to know on the island home for dinner.
It will cost a bit (in the church we wear staying for free) so all you who pray for us please pray for steady income.
We need about 1000 euro each month for our living expences, including rent, electricity, water, food, gas etc.

Greetings from Northen Macedonia

At an internet cafe in beautiful Ohrid, Fyrom.
We are at an 24-7 conference.
It's encouraging to meet with people and having time to think.
God is at the move.

Harald

Sometimes a bit too fast for the camera...

Finally, still long enough for a photo.

Some updates

Poor Kenneth has been sick for a couple of days. He has had fever and an upset stomach. It's something that is going around here on the island. He's still not doing good but a bit better today, he's been sitting up some at least.
Lena on the other hand has been quite efficient and is feeling very proud of it :-). She's been working on getting things in place (now we can actually use the desk in the office!) and been going through the cupboards in the kitchen.
Today she was also paying a visit to the butcher. It's cool how he cut a peace from the big meat hanging in the cooler and how you then get it fresh from the meat mincer. In Sweden they been writing in the paper about how they change the dates on the old minced meat in the stores, no worries about that here!
What neither of us has been good at though is to do our Greek studies... We have gotten a homework from Marjo (the pastors wife), we are to read a chapter from the Bible. Every now and then (when we actually do read some) we understand a word and we are all excited about it :-)
Harald has also been sick some and we were wondering if he would even survive (being so small not having a real mother). But he is also doing better. He would need another cat though to play with... so full of energy at times :-)

Already June!!!

We've had some days when we've been a bit low. Not knowing what to do and just beeing emotional.
There is a lot of new things going on, we need time to adjust to our new country. And we for sure need to learn the language!!
But this Sunday the preaching was about finding your rest in God. And when finding our rest in knowing that he is with us everyday and we don't have to worry about tomorrow we can enjoy the day we have and do what we can not trying to do what we are not supposed to do.

Now we're waiting for Stewart, one of the elders in our church, New Life, in Stockholm.
He's visiting us in June. And then two other friends with their children are coming the same day as Stewart is leaving. So maybe they'll see eachother on the airport. :-) We're really glad to have them all coming here.
